Chapter 5

Her belly fluttered. In a fog, she spread her legs to the sensation of liquid heat.

Then her eyes snapped open. Something wasn’t right.

Kayleen tugged at her hands, pulled at her feet. They were bound. Rough ropes dug into her skin as she tried in vain to free herself. She was flat on her back, on a cold table of stone, and all around her was torchlight.

She gasped as intense pleasure shot through her core like electricity.

Looking down, her head the only part of her that she could still move, she saw her naked body, breasts heaving with each breath, her tight belly held down by another rope, her legs spread wide. A woman’s red head was buried inbetween her legs. Lorathel looked up at her lewdly as she ran a soft tongue up her cleft again, lingering over her clit. Kayleen tried to hold back the scream. She failed.

The Outcast leader stood up, rubbing a wrist against her mouth. “You taste good. Strong. Sweet. I’ll come back to you. First I feel the need to take your would-be lover again.”

“He has a name,” she spoke between clenched teeth. Maker burn this woman. Burn her to ash.

Lorathel lifted an eyebrow. “You care for him? Enough to know his name? Ha. In our villages, men have no names. They are meat. You can eat all you want, but you don’t name them. They are pets, so to speak.”

Kayleen was regaining more of her senses. Around her was a cavern. They weren’t back in the Outcast territories yet, then. Good. That meant Lorathel probably hadn’t collected any more of her warriors yet. They were most likely in the Amethyst Caves, just on the border of Outcast territory. There was still time to do something, before this woman made a mockery of Kayleen’s Ice Maiden heritage.

To her right were three other tables just as tall and just as long as the one that Kayleen was strapped to. She supposed the Outcasts used these caves as a waypoint after stealing men from the Ice Maidens. They had adapted the space for their use.

On the table next to her lay Marleki, as naked as her, muscled body slack, eyes closed. He was still unconscious. She watched his chest rise and fall a few times before she was satisfied that he was still alive.

“Magnificent, isn’t he?” Lorathel purred. “Too bad he’s still asleep. I might have made him watch you and me going at it first.”

“You disgust me,” Kayleen said, pulling up saliva to spit out at the woman. “We know your tradition of stealing our men away. You’ll even steal men from other tribes, diluting your bloodlines. But you are still Ice Maidens. You still respect your own!”

“You are not mine,” Lorathel said disdainfully, a fist on her hip. “The Outcasts are the only tribe I recognize. You Ice Maidens threw us away. You denied us our birthright and made us what we are now! If you don’t like what I do, blame yourselves!”

Kayleen’s anger flared again.
